Dr. Jordan Jacobs knew he wanted a career in medicine from a very early age. Accompanying his father, himself a renowned plastic surgeon, on a medical mission trip to China at the age of 8, solidified a specific passion for the transformative aspects of plastic surgery. It also inspired a lifelong spirit of international volunteerism.
Dr. Jacobs views his education and training as a sheer privilege, humbling him even to this day. He describes it as a perfect combination of incredibly hard work, and the good fortune of being in exactly the right place at a magical moment time. It’s a scenario that set him up to train with internationally-recognized leaders and experts, all throughout his education; while in medical school at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia; during his Residency in reconstruction at NYU; and end-capped by his Fellowship Training in Craniofacial Surgery, also at NYU. He views joining NYGPS, in partnership with Dr. Salzberg, and it’s academic connection to Mount Sinai doctors, as a continuation of this incredible journey of good fortune.
