Enhance Your Natural Facial Features With Brow Lift Surgery

Genetics, gravity, and age can make your face look older than you are, or at least older than you feel. No one appreciates a furrowed brow with sagging upper eyelids. You don’t have to be sad, tired, or frustrated with the way you look. Our New York patients turn to a brow lift in NYC for a refreshed upper face.

Brow lift surgery, also called a forehead lift, provides effective, long-term improvements to the upper face. Most of our patients prefer the minimally-invasive endoscopic brow lift because it creates results similar to the traditional approach with a quicker recovery period and limited discomfort. The New York Group for Plastic Surgery’s team of highly trained and skilled surgeons uses this modern procedure to produce pleasing and natural-looking results.

What Can a Brow Lift Improve?

Our New York patients, who are typically between 40 and 60 years of age, choose brow lift plastic surgery to improve:

  • Sagging and droopy eyebrows
  • Horizontal forehead creases
  • Vertical “worry lines” between the eyebrows
  • Hooding of the upper eyelids

Our surgeons in New York, typically combine a brow lift with a facelift and neck lift for a more comprehensive facial renewal from hairline to neckline. While brow lifts also improve sagging upper eyelids, some patients combine the procedure with eyelid surgery for a more refreshed look in the overall eye area. Your surgeon will help you determine the right combination of procedures during your personalized consultation. For minor forehead creases, some women and men visit our on-site medical spa for BOTOX® Cosmetic, Restylane®, Radiesse®, or JUVÉDERM® Injectable Gel. These treatments provide effective, temporary, non-surgical solutions that can postpone the need for surgery for years.

Types of Brow Lifts

Lateral/ Temporal Brow Lift

New York Group for Plastic Surgery performs the best forehead lift in New York City. There are however three different types. The lateral or temporal brow lift is the most common procedure for brow lifts — it lifts and reshapes the outer regions of the eyebrows. The procedure is performed under general anesthesia. It involves a small one-inch scar that runs along the hairline or within the hair above the temples. In both cases, the incision marks are completely hidden from plain view.

Endoscopic Brow Lift

An endoscopic brow lift is an advanced technique that has replaced the traditional coronal brow lift, a procedure wherein the incision mark ran from ear to ear. The endoscopic brow lift requires small half-inch incisions along the hairline that produce minimal swelling and ensure a quick recovery. The procedure is performed under general anesthesia, so you don’t feel anything.

Non-surgical Brow Lift

A non-surgical brow lift is a procedure wherein cosmetic injectables are used to smoothen the wrinkles and lift the brows temporarily. We use Botox Cosmetic injectables to paralyze the facial muscles leading to creases and low-hanging eyebrows. All it takes is a few injections in strategically-chosen locations, and you see the results in a few days. The non-surgical brow lift can also be combined with your surgery to enhance the results.

What To Expect From Your Brow Lift In New York

Your brow lift in NYC will be performed in the on-site surgical facility at one of our convenient locations. The endoscopic procedure involves only 3 to 5 small incisions along the hairline, minimizing the risk of bruising, bleeding, and swelling. You’ll need to have someone drive you home and assist you for the first 1 to 2 days after the surgery.

Your recovery period will depend on whether you have an endoscopic surgery or a traditional brow lift. The recovery period might increase if you combine the brow lift with other procedures. You can resume most of your activities after about a week to 10 days and resume more vigorous exercises after several weeks.

Our New York patients are always pleased with the results of their brow lift plastic surgery. You’ll be pleasantly surprised to see how much younger you look without a furrowed forehead and the weight of sagging upper eyelids and eyebrows.

Brow Lift FAQs

How much does a brow lift cost?

The cost of a brow lift can vary significantly depending on factors like the degree of correction required and the specific techniques used. Our facial plastic surgeons will provide a personalized estimate based on your unique needs and goals.

Is a brow lift the same as a forehead lift?

Yes, a brow lift and a forehead lift are essentially the same procedure, with the terms often used interchangeably. Both surgeries involve addressing sagging brows and forehead wrinkles. The fundamental goal is to rejuvenate the upper face.

Are brow lifts permanent?

Brow lifts provide long-lasting results, but they are not permanent. The aging process continues, and you may notice natural sagging and the reappearance of wrinkles over time. However, the effects of a brow lift can last for several years.

Am I a good candidate for a brow lift?

You may be suitable for a brow lift if you’re bothered by sagging eyebrows, frown lines, or a perpetually tired appearance. You must have generally good health and realistic expectations from the procedure. During your consultation, our facial plastic surgeons will assess your facial anatomy to determine if a brow lift is appropriate for your unique needs.

What is the recovery time for a brow lift?

Your recovery time after a brow lift typically spans one to two weeks. Initially, you may experience swelling and bruising, but these gradually subside. Most individuals can resume light activities within a few days and return to regular routines in about two weeks. However, the final results may take a few months to become evident.
