Surgeons and staff of the New York Group for Plastic Surgery are here to support you after your ear lobe repair. The following instructions and guidelines will help your recovery process:
- Sutures are removed in 1-2 weeks following repair and a thin layer of antibiotic ointment is the only dressing applied in most cases. A little drainage from the wound is to be expected.
- You may place a Band-Aid over the earlobe when you sleep at night to prevent the sutures from catching on your pillowcase.
- Typically you will not need antibiotics or pain medication after this procedure but may take Tylenol or Advil if needed.
