Dr. C. Andrew Salzberg is one of New York City’s most esteemed and experienced Board Certified Plastic Surgeons. At the very top of his 39+ year medical career, Dr. Salzberg specializes in refined cosmetic surgery of the face, breast, and body, as well as advanced breast reconstruction. He is also the System Chief of Plastic Surgery at the Mount Sinai Health System, a position he has held with great honor and distinction since 2016.
Dr. Salzberg is internationally known as the pioneer and innovator of “One–Step” or Direct to Implant Breast Reconstruction, made possible, in part, by the development of AlloDerm, a biologic material. This type of breast reconstruction replaces the traditional Tissue Expander Method, which requires two surgeries (and therefore, two recoveries, a second set of risks, and a prolonged life-disrupting experience, plus several weeks of in-office expansion in between). His work, technique, and recognition in the field of immediate breast reconstruction has allowed him to improve outcomes for patients here in NYC, as well as across globe. As an international clinical educator, he is passionate about teaching the next generation of surgeons, making a career defining impact on raising the bar, in terms of outcomes, for women seeking post-mastectomy reconstruction around the world.
